It discusses competence, the times we live in, and presents guidelines and tools that you - the homo competens - will need to thrive in your personal life, at work, and in society at large. If we really mean that 'competent people are our most important asset', let's not treat competence as a black box or leave it to chance.

My professional life is all about competent people. I think, publish, consult, and set up learning and development projects for corporations.
