The scope of this standard is to identify the principles of risk management as they are applied to project management.

Reference is made to the Project Risk Management System and 'Project Risk, Practical Risk Management User Guide' (Hoskyns Group) which provide a means of conducting risk management on a project using a software package. Other risk management products may be substituted.

Objectives

The objective of this standard is to identify, contain and elimi-nate risks on a project. Also to ensure that risks are identified and assessed as early as possible in the project which allows the project manager to make informed decisions as to the di-rection of the project so that it may lead to a successful con-clusion.
