This is a book written in Russian by a Russian.
Hi from Britain, Letters to the Girls is based on the real life experience of a young woman, who left her native Russia to follow a childhood dream to live and find love in England.
Every week she would send a letter back home to her three best friends: Joana; Irina and Natasha. Each of the girls is interested in different aspects of their friend’s new life. Joana had recently visited America. She lives life to the full, seems to have a new boyfriend every month and is in no hurry to get married. Unlike Natasha who has a romantic heart and is more interested in hearing how her old friend is experiencing family life in the West. Irina shares a passion for fashion and cooking, and would also love to travel abroad.
The letters cover her arrival in England, her experiences of this new exotic lifestyle, sometimes exciting and other times strange and even difficult. How she fell in love and married after a whirlwind romance and honeymooned in historic Edinburgh, Scotland.
Her new husband`s import/export business took her on many interesting journeys, both around Britain and abroad, meeting people from many different cultures.
It is a story of love and life, good times and hard times. Most of all it is the story of how young women from Russia made her dreams come true.
The main heroine of the book leaves for England and marries there. She addresses letters to three close girl-friends. To Joana, Irina and Natasha. Joana has just returned from a trip to America. She is not on a hurry to get married. But it intimate details from a life of our heroine and its husband very interest. Irina great travel lover and stories happened with her close girlfriend in England very interesting to her. The girlfriend marries, and going to begin a new life abroad. The letter to Natasha begins with the story about preparation of the main heroine for wedding. Natasha itself wishes to get family as soon as possible. Our heroine marries. After returning from honeymoon she writes to girl-friends about the feelings, the last ceremony and travel. Our heroine keeps girlfriends posted events of the new life. The fashion, stories about travel and culinary recipes are more interesting to Irina. Family attitudes are more interesting to Natasha, and Joana is interested mainly in an intimate life. Marriage appears happy. But not all so is simple in a life. On a way our heroine has different problems. That it learns the first, after has married, what not so simply to acquire the right to residing and the passport. Spouses collide with the first barrier, immigration office. Rare meetings of girlfriends deliver to them improbable pleasure. In business of the husband there come hard times and spouses make a decision to begin joint business with the companies from the different countries. Travel, meetings with unusual people, interesting stories happened with our heroine for three years are very interesting to her girlfriends. Unexpectedly heroine and her husband decide to move for a while on a residence to Africa. Following “Letters from Africa “.
