A colony of rogue settlers give invadders from Earth a sort of surpris
A short story about resistance against tyranny.
A small colony, founded by people mostly from Brittany who had been displaced due to a fatal accident in Sellafield, UK. Most folks do farming, some small scale industry. The EU government decides it is time to take them in and expand their influence to the stars.
The settlers, having lost their homes by nuclear fallout, won't give up their new home, though. They decide to fight for their own lives, properties and independence.
And win.
