When her fiancé is killed on their wedding day, Charlotte Worthington goes into a rapid decline and is close to madness. Shortly after, her father dies and she has nothing left to live for. With the help of some sleeping drafts she takes to her bed and commits suicide. However her lonely and restless spirit is not yet ready to leave the home she loves, Moorcroft. She wanders the dark rooms and corridors until a new family arrive to take possession of the property and soon she can interact with the newcomers.
