Michael Kingswood grew up in Maryland, in the Washington, DC suburbs. He graduated from Boston University in May 1997, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering (minor in Astronomy). Upon graduation, he was commissioned as an officer in the US Navy and has served as a submariner ever since. He has since earned a masters degree in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina.

Michael has always been a voracious reader. Though he prefers reading science fiction and fantasy for entertainment, he will sample just about any genre. Except paranormal romance. For education and personal development purposes, he enjoys reading about economics, history, physics, astronomy, sports, current events, and business. His hobbies include reading (obviously), running, bicycling, computer games, martial arts, sailing, skiing, flying, and debating politics. He began writing fiction in late 2010, after thinking about doing so for years.

He is married to a lovely lady from Maine. They have three children, and live wherever the Navy deems to send them.
