Ted's Dead Head
Publication date: 04/06/2020
Ted William's frozen head is brought back to life in 2041
Ted Williams, the famous Boston Red Sox player, achieved a .406 batting average for the first time in 1941. He died in 2002 and his dismembered head was frozen for preservation by Alcor, an Arizona company engaged in the business of cryonics. The centennial anniversary of that event, 2041, is the year the aging owner of the Red Sox whimsically decides to spend some of his billions to attempt to reanimate Ted’s frozen head. He is motivated by having hired a young, talented hitter named Teddy Williams, not related to the famous Ted, who promises to eclipse the legends record. He is not aware of Teddy’s dark past and he is completely unprepared for the consequences of raising someone from the dead. What is it like to be dead for 39 years and then brought back among the living?
