Ross G. Drago was born in Buffalo, New York, the son of Ross J. Drago, a well known Buffalo artist and inventor, and a mother who loved writing. With two older sisters young Ross Drago's creative growth was encouraged all throughout his youth, as a writer and painter. Drago studied art and English at SUNY at Buffalo, where he received his B.A. Degree in 1964.
He moved to Berkeley, California in 1967, lived briefly in San Bernardino where he taught school, and returned to Berkeley where he has lived since. Drago has written some fourteen books on the subject of human relations, consciousness and new ideas in the form of novels, short stories anthologies and non-fiction books.
An active painter in the San Francisco East Bay, he has been commissioned to make several architectural scale public works of fine art, and is the founder and Director of the Energy Art Studio in Emeryville, CA.
