Craig Jackson was raised on the south side of Chicago, and like many other natives was prompted to become a part of the city’s gang population. After being in prison four times, battling addiction, criminal behavior, and self he finally learned through diligent study and practice how to live at peace with himself and others.

These poems are the results of his pains and sufferings, the releasing of conscious that plagues, and triumphs over false ideals he had of the world and of himself. A long road traveled, he continues on his way, walking forward toward the pursuit of happiness. He may not be successful to the world, but in himself he found personal success through the journey of self-inspection. Everyday his struggle continues, but he remains focused on growth, development, and motivation for he knows life is never stagnant, only man is when lost in ignorance.
