Abstract:
In general, actuators that use electromagnetic attraction cannot generate a high thrust force over a long stroke because of the drastic decrease in the thrust force brought by the increase in the air gap between an electromagnet and an armature. This research has the goal of developing an actuator that uses a high electromagnetic force in a small air gap with a large displacement by utilizing a displacement amplification mechanism. This paper presents the principle of the proposed actuator and the results of simple performance evaluations.
