An exploration of the social impact of diversity assumptions
There is nothing more common than diversity. It is the most widespread characteristic. And yet it causes uncommon responses by man. Diversity becomes a problem when it is disconnected from its one cause of life. The age of diversity will therefore have to become a religious age in order to flourish, because it is religion that upholds the teaching about the one cause without a second; that it is indivisible and sacred. Evolutionary assumptions about the one source, on the other hand, uphold the theory of the survival of the fittest and the most adaptable of creatures created and of the diversity of creation at large. The former entails a logic of peaceful coexistence of the diverse creatures created and in particular of the human species in its diversity, while the latter entails a logic of competition for survival of the fittest of the diverse creatures on earth. These assumptions have a shaping impact on human environments
