In this story, Miss Molly Moser, the owner of Moser Mansion, is marrying the butter and egg man Orie Lang. Molly told the residents that they could invite relative they wanted to come to her wedding in the back yard. Gracie doesn't have any relatives to invite. Libby Hook has a son in California who doesn't seem interested in his mother. Melinda Applegate doesn't know where her relatives are, but she wants someone to escort her to the wedding. She places an ad in a reader to reader column in a large newspaper and is overjoyed when she gets a reply. A man claiming to be her nephew says he will be glad to take her to the wedding and will be arriving in Locked Rock, Iowa soon. Gracie takes an instant dislike to the young man. She believes he is dishonest and is determined to prove it. She tries to warn everyone else that they need to get rid of Jeffrey Armstrong, but the others think Gracie is jealous. Melinda doesn't spend much time with Gracie now that her nephew is taking her for rides and out to eat. At the same time, all sorts of upheaval takes place in the mansion while Molly is gone on her month long honeymoon. The Moser library is turned into a town library and a book is stolen. Gracie is sure Jeffrey did it, because she saw him on a chair in the library one night. When the Naked Man Statue came up missing that was the last straw for Gracie. She called the sheriff and asked him to arrest Melinda's nephew.
